HEADSET STYLES
Modern headsets are supplied in a number of configurations. Some of these are presented below.
Monaural telephone headset
This type of telephone headset comes with a single earpiece. The user can wear this telephone headset over the left or right ear. A single earpiece allows the user to confer with co-workers but may not be suitable for use in a loud office
Binaural telephone headset
Binaural telephone headsets are supplied with 2 earpieces for wearing over both ears. These cancel out more background noise for the operator than monaural telephone headsets and are useful in a loud office.
Over the ear telephone headset
This type of telephone headset is supplied with an ear hook for clipping over the ear. Some Monaural headsets are convertible and can be used in an over-the-head or over-the-ear configuration.
Over the head telephone headset
This type of telephone headset has a headband. The headband styles generally feel more stable and secure. The Monaural headset above shows a headband style.
In-the-ear Headsets
These headsets are extremely small and lightweight. They feature an earpiece that goes directly inside your ear. They are mostly used for mobile telephones.
Behind the neck Headsets
These headsets have a unique design that fits around the back of the neck.
